3 months ago i got my card hacked and locked. now i have my new card and i've linked it up to paypal. activated it with the bank and made sure everything is ok but when i went to make a purchase the order was either declined or not placed. i tried again today and the order was not placed but the bank shows the money is gone as if an order was placed. paypal has no activity of this and not even a notifications log but gave me this mesage
++On 4 December 2020, $776.20 AUD was preauthorised for a purchase on your card xx-XXXX. If it isn’t completed or it’s completed for a different amount, any pending amounts will drop off your activity statements, usually within a day.++
i have made some game purchases from Steam and they went through alright so i know the card is working and paypal logs those purchases but i have no idea whats going on here. i checked purchase limit with the bank and its set to unlimited.
as you can imagine after having your card hacked and waiting 3 months for a new one only to be met with this i am quite irate.
does anyone know what this means? it kind of looks like i need to authorise something with paypal but there is no record of transaction to authorise and nothing anywhere that i can see to click. the card is in paypal, its linked, its preffered as payment and works with steam. what is going on?
