I have a few companies that I buy goods from in the USA constantly and there are others that it use occasionally. I buy my goods and ship them to an address in Portland Oregon, who are on forwarders and ship the goods to me in Australia.
But lately there have been two companies that seem to have changed policy and now will not accept any Credit Card that generates from Australia. So you go to another form of payment PayPal. Now PayPal Australia & PayPal USA are the same companies, but if you try to pay for goods from Australia using PayPal it will not accept the payment because you are outside the USA.
Now I am technically buying as a USA Customer with a USA delivery address. If I can use the example of an American Customer buying a gift - their credit card has their own personal delivery address, but you want to buy a gift and send it to another delivery address in the USA. Now that is ok to do that according to these companies but because i reside in Australia I cant pay for it with a Credit Card nor PayPal.
Why is it not possible for me to buy goods and use my Australian PayPal account? Id really like someone to give me a feasible reason. Right now it feel prejudicial and biased to not accept trade from Customers outside the USA. Sometimes these companies and the ONLY place you can buy certain goods. Have they not heard of free trade?
What I would like to know is why is this allowed to happen by PayPal they are after all the same company as the USA PayPal. If you have a disputed transaction you end up talking to the USA staff to lodge a claim etc.
Why is there no way to have an Australian/USA PayPal account to purchase goods? This is doing my head in trying to find a way to buy and pay for the goods I need when they wont accept Credit Card or PayPal if I didn't need the goods I would not be trying so hard.
Id love some feedback on anyone else that has had issues and if you have found a way around this issue.
