Trying to make sense of the charges.

I have searched and tried to figure out how the charges work. I am going to give an idea on how this worked out. I listed something for sale and it sold. He was supposed to mail a check but did not make to the post office so his friend stopped by the man's business and they decided to send me the money through PayPal. The sent $217.00 and it shows in the activity but now I have $197.38 in the PayPal account. I see where the charge is 2.9% + .30 fee per transaction. So why did cost $16.62 to do this transaction? Thank you

Hi @bugmeso

If you have received payment for an international sale your fee will be different.

Here you can see more about PayPal fees and also access the fees page.

I hope it helps!

Thanks for the response. But the transaction was the end of the state of PA....just about 275 mi....not far at all. That's why I posted the money amounts, some that understands should be able finger it out 🙂

PP sends me an email to a reply that "I" made, how ridiculous! And NO I did not get the question answered.
