Supposedly simple way to send cash for pick up to friend

Trying to send money for cash pickup to a friend. Paypal sends me to Xoom. Xoom tells me no debit/credit card is registered with them....even through my paypal acc. Help centre there tells me I have to contact paypal help centre. Any simple fix that an idiot like me can understand ??
