Refund Sent, but Funds Not Taken from My Account?

I just issued a refund to a customer after their item was lost in the post, which was not an issue at all. However, it says on my paypal activity that the refund has been sent over, but when I check my bank balance, no money has been taken from my account? I didn’t have any funds in my PayPal balance, so, when I was issuing the refund, it said that the money would be taken straight from my bank account. I am just very worried as I don’t want to disappoint the customer further - she already has not received her item! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

Transfers from bank accounts are never instant, that is why when you buy something paypal credit the seller upfront for you and paypal take the wait for the funds to transfer to pay them back again, this is so you get your item without delay.

However if you are adding funds to your balance or issuing a refund then this time its you that takes the wait for it to clear through to paypal > buyer.

Takes 5-7 working days to transfer as Paypal use the slowest (cheapest) transfer option BUT funds normally leave your bank account from a few hours up to a few days later.
