I was sent $100 from a Paypal China account but I received $94.30 - my fee was $5.70.
I don't understand why the fee was this much?
I've seen that there is a flat fee of $0.30/transaction but haven't seen anything that indicates a 5.4% fee on top of that - highest fee I've seen in <5%.
I was also sent $1 from the same account and which was converted into €0.84 but I only received €0.44 - fees was €0.40.
Again, very confused as to how my fee was so high here.
Frustratingly confused as this information isn't easy to find, or not available, on the Paypal site.
Also, why can't I get a breakdown of the fee structure on each transaction?
This would allow me to see the fee structure there and then without having to spend hours searching for answers.
Also, I don't know how much the variable fee is so in terms of issuing a refund I don't know how much I will be charged for or not.
Serious lack of transparency here PP
