Payment incorrectly cancelled

I placed a fairly large order on eBay yesterday and got a notification early today that PayPal thought it was suspicious. Fair enough, so I went into PayPal to confirm my details and all that. That's all fine, but at no point did it ask if the payment was correct or not. It just assumed it wasn't and cancelled it. Now, the payment is "refunded", I don't have the money in my account and on eBay it's still stuck on pending, so I have no idea what to do. Do I tell the seller to cancel it, wait a week for PayPal to give me my money, and then try again? Seems like an absolute pain that could have been very easily avoided if PayPal had only asked. Or will PayPal/eBay sort it out themselves?
