PayPal Balance

I don’t usually have a balance and any pre arranged payments are taken from my linked bank account. This time someone has sent me £5 so the balance has been used to pay the bill even though it is £7.99. Will the remaining 2.99 be taken from my bank account or will the £5 PayPal balance be returned to my paypal account and the full amount be taken from my bank account?

Which funding source is your primary?

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your prefered way to pay and put a dot in one of the options listed.

If its your balance then paypal will take from your balance first and anything remaining from your linked bank account or card.
