Overseas payment receive

I followed all the procedures to set up a paypal business account and at the end it asks me for a GST Number. which I do not have. Moreover i am not able to view the payment sent to me on my balance. Is it necessary to provide my GST because I havent made it?

To be clear, receiving money through Paypal does not necessitate GST registration. You only need to register for GST if you wish to receive an input credit for the GST that Paypal charges on its fees.
