Cancelled transaction - How long does it take for the money to be returned to my bank account?

Hi, 

I almost got scammed into paying for a gfx card. I managed to cancel my transaction within a few minutes of the purchase and paypal confirmed the cancellation and refund. However, my paypal balance shows as 0, and it notes that the money was returned to my bank a/c. However, my bank account does not show the returned amount. Is this normal? How long should it typically take? I cancelled the payment and got the refund less than an hour ago. TIA

Thanks for the quick response. So basically, this falls within the regular scheme of things, right? Based on what you say, it's a matter of my bank updating some electronic transactions?
