Can't Send Money to India / "This recipient accepts PayPal payments only through their website."

Attempting to send money from the U.S. to India returns this error: "This recipient accepts PayPal payments only through their website. To complete this payment, please go to their website and follow their instructions, or email the recipient for instructions."

This started happening a few months ago.

We have a U.S. PayPal Business account, and are sending via "Goods & Services".

It is happening with every India PayPal account that we know of, and the recipients have no idea how to fix it.

What is the fix for this?

Indian paypal accounts have to have special requirements to receive funds...

Thank you @kernowlass , but that doesn't make sense for the error of "recipient accepts PayPal payments only through their website".

Thats the message that is always sent when a seller can't accept paypal payments yet.

Its also sent to buyers that try to send funds to Nigeria and they can't accept payments at all ...ever.

This is because even though they can't accept paypal payments they MAY be able to receive them via a paypal card reader via their websites.

BUT Indian sellers have to set up their accounts as per link before they can accept payments directly via paypal.

Ah ok. I'll have one of them try that to see if that fixes it.

P.S. PayPal needs to improve its error messages.
