Authorisation missing money

Hi, I bought an item via PayPal on 8 November and it went to 'authorisation' The company I was buying from could not take the money from my account for some reason and have emailed me today and cancelled the order. I cannot find any trace of the payment on my PayPal account now, (I have confirmation emails when I bought the item) My bank account says that the amount is pending, will the money just go back into my bank account after a few days? Any help would be greatfully appreciated Thanks
