Hi I sent a money request via paypal for an item i am selling;
A person wishes to buy the item; i send them a request for payment via paypal.
I then receive a message on my phone saying that if i wish to receive the money through paypal I need to click on a link which asks for my bank details.
I thought that if i send a money request through paypal that they can send my money without needing to show my bank details. Why am i being asked to give my bank details to receive the money? Is this a scam? I dont feel comfortable sending my bank details to an unknown company even though it says its from paypal.
The link says it is from <removed>. and then a number. What is bit.ly? Is this a normal procedure to receive money from a client via paypal?
