This organization can't accept donations right now.

Hello,

 

We have been receiving payments through our website without any problems. Recently we began receiving these emails from Paypal:  

 

"Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing: - The link to our website donation button-.

If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue."

 

On our website, when we click the donation button, we are taken to a website that says, "This organization can't accept donations right now.""

We haven't changed any settings in our account, so we don't know what might be happening and how to solve it.

Thank you for posting to the PayPal Merchant Community.

Instant payment notifications is a way to communicate your website with PayPal, if your notification URL stops communicating with PayPal, we try 16 times to deliver the message. If your website does not respond, then we will send an email letting you know that we are not able to communicate with the specific website.

Have your web developer make certain that the URL that is listed in the email is able to communicate with PayPal.

If you do not want to receive email notifications, you can disable it. Here's how:

  • Log into your PayPal Account
  • Hover over your name
  • Click Account Settings
  • Click on Notifications
  • Click Update to the right of Instant payment notifications
  • Click Choose IPN Settings
  • Click Do Not Receive IPN Messages (Disabled)
  • Save changes

With the donation button, since you are receiving an error message related to your account, the best way to resolve this issue is to open a ticket to Merchant Technical Support.

Here is how:

  • Go to https://paypal.com/mts
  • Click on Contact us at the bottom right
  • Click Log in with PayPal
  • Log into your live PayPal Account
  • Click Contact us
  • Fill in the details related to the issue
  • Submit the ticket
