Selling with button vs api

I wanted to ask what your experience is on Selling with button vs api?

1. Selling with button, copy paste html, jscript - goes to paypal.com and returns to site thank you page

2. Selling with api, never leave the site, just visible paypal logo - goes to thank you page of website

Which method makes more sales?
