What makes my workstation is its simplicity. No clutter. Just mouse and my laptop. As a graphic designer, it makes me organized and focused in what I'm doing. This is my workstation.

I live in a 4,5 x 2,3 meter room in an boarding house. As a student in another city, I should make some part of my own support. Thus, I work as freelance, a graphic designer and writer at once. Everytime I need to read some book to fulfill my writing or getting inspired for my design, I only take it from right and leftside of my computer. This is really efficient. My workstation is not only my workstation, it is also my library and even delicacy.

My workstation is very simple. It's consisting of one old laptop that is older than 8 years and a small 'Teletubbies' table. I worked as a freelancer since 8 years ago as well. This old laptop is already generating thousands of dollars each year. These stuffs are my great colleagues!

My #FreelanceWorkstation is also my stress release station. Looks messy, but it's well organized. My workstation is also a zone that reflects my hobbies which are collecting postcards and crafting ideas. Well, every time I finished some works in front of my monitor, I'll just look up in my hanging postcards and view the postcards that I just recently received from my postcrossers friends around the world. And sometimes, if I want to rest my mind, I'll just move forward my computer and let my creative mind and hand do some crafting. After that I can say to myself, "Stress released! Move on and keep on going!"

I have been a freelancer since my husband got me a laptop in 2005. This was during my pregnancy of our daughter Charlotte. I used to teach musical theater at a school and directed events and shows for a production. I was not used to staying home and being idle, and I was getting so bored. My sister-in-law introduced me to freelance work through Odesk.com (Now Upwork.com) and so I tried it. Now, after almost 11 years, I can say that I am grateful for having tried this career.
You Get to Do What You Love
At present, I am a regular writer for websites like keenonyou.com, myyellowcanary.com, thesouljah.com, marriage.com and many more to mention. I have always enjoyed writing and this job is more like a hobby to me. Freelancing allows me to choose the jobs that best suits me, and I love being able to do what I love as my job.
Work At Your Own Pace
Most of my jobs online allow me to work at my own pace. I am given a deadline by my boss and if I have trouble meeting that, I can easily communicate with him or her through Skype or Email. I love the flexibility because I can work between chores and mommy duties.
:Less Expenses
One of the perks of working from home is that there is no dress code. You do not have to shop for office clothes all the time. You do not need to travel so you don't have to pay for gas or your bus fare. Food is cheaper too because you never need to eat out. You get to keep more of your hard-earned money, right?
You Earn As Much As You Work
Although it looks like we are just slacking off on our computers, the truth is Freelancing is hard work too. And the more you work, the more you earn. You can actually get as many jobs as you want, as long as you can meet the deadlines and still deliver excellent work.
Time With The Family
The best thing I like about being a freelancer is that I get to spend more time with my kids. I can play with them between jobs. I can cook meals for them and I get to cuddle them anytime I want to. It's really the best of both worlds. I get to work and help my husband pay the bills while still being a full-time mom.
