What happens with the Paypal Debit Master Card, when...

I sure hope someone can explain something and/or advise me because I have written into Paypal

twice and still have not gotten a reply to my inquiry.

Here's the story on what happened.   I had a Paypal Debit Mastercard that I really did enjoy using

because I looked forward to earning the cash back rewards.

I went to order a dvd for my husband..some old western type movie and found it at an incredible

price so I purchased it using this paypal debit card.  Little did I know, that by my having purchased

this item, I was inadvertantly signed up for some type of membership which would bill me a $9.99

fee monthly.  I did not want this, nor did I realize this was going to take place.  When I saw

a few charges on my paypal transactions page, I became very very concerned to where I called

paypal.  I spoke with a nice lady/representative explaining the unauthorized transactions and

wanted to know what I needed to do to stop this.  I was told the best thing would be to CANCEL

my paypal debit card and then request a new one... consider it lost/stolen, etc.. She actually

walked me through the entire process while on the phone.

The next thing I know, I'm getting an email from Paypal saying they were having some difficulty

verifying me... that I now needed to submit documents to prove I was who I said I was.  I called

again, and spoke with another nice lady who said if I had a digital camera, I could just take

a photo of the required documents and submit these.. I did so, and because of her suggestion

my repy/submission was that much easier and quicker to be incompliance.

I then get an email saying, that I was not approved and/or I was declined for the debit card

due to the verification process (not having yet processed)

I was under the impression that once I submitted the required documents (as verified on the

phone with the second representative who suggested the digital camera photo submissions)

that my paypal debit card would be reissued.

I have not heard back from paypal despite two written inquiries from the website.

Why on earth after submitting the valid requirements/id information and complying with what

I was told to do would I not be entitled to get a replacement debit card???

I am the person who canceled the first card due to it having been compromised.

I do not understand why I'd be declined as I was the one who initiated the cancellation.  I, further,

do not understand why after having written into paypal (twice)  from the 'secure' website/log in.. that

I would not even get a reply email/response..

Any explanations would be most helpful.

Hi LeeSmith,

Your situation is very specific, which makes it hard for someone from the community to be able to guide you. I believe this situation is fixable if you contact Customer Solutions and look into the specifics. While support is available by both phone and email, I think you may have the best result with contacting by phone for this situation, so follow-up questions and clarification can be done in real-time. If there's been a mistake, it can be examined and resolved more quickly that way.

Let us know how it works out!
