How long till money is withdrawn from my bank account?

I have a Paypal debit card. and 0 balance in my Paypal account. I have linked my checking account as "backup" funding.

Now, I have used my debit card to buy something. How long before money is actually withdrawn from my "backup" funding?

If the transaction went through, it should be instant, just as you used your actual bank debit card, Log into your Bank Debit Card and check your statement to see if it was charged that amount (the amount should also be showing in recent activity under your paypal account)
