Why you should never use Paypal

Paypal is a **bleep** company; plain and simple. They allow people to easily scam you out of money while the company keeps making profits off of fees being charged. There are plenty of better options nowadays that work better.

Let's say someone sends me money through Good and Services. I can do nothing to deny these funds. They are processed with Paypal taking out a fee for themselves. If I then refund all of the money I actually received, Paypal will still keep the fees they took out for doing nothing and still hold me responsible for repaying the extra money that Paypal kept for themselves. This is happening to me right now.

Or let's say I buy something and end up needing to return it. I can get your refund back and the seller can send me money for return shipping, but they can later dispute the charge and get it back. This happened to me two years ago.

So you can easily be out money as either the seller or buyer for reasons that are not your fault.

This isn't the worst part though; Paypal's customer service is. They outsource everything to India where the people don't care about your problem and can literally do nothing more than you can do. The system doesn't allow for them to actually do anything, so you can sit on hold for hours only to be told that nothing can be changed even if you are right just because "that's how the system operates".

The good news is there are plenty of alternative today including CashApp, Zelle, and many others. Do yourself a favor and try them out instead.

I will be closing my account with Paypal. Be smart and do the same or never get one in the first place.

Agree 100%. I just had an issue like this. I disputed and file a claim. Paypal solved the case in favor of the seller based on a tracking number they or him provided, which supposedly proves I received item. Called usps and package was not related to my name or address. Can't even get in touch with PayPal. Everything is automated. called and was waiting for almost 2 hours and no answer. Very disappointed!

I've used it forever but no more.  I erroneously sent $400+ to the wrong email.   Two days later I corrected it and asked them to reverse it.  They wouldn't.  Will never use them again.
