I need to gain to my Fathers PayPal account using the Power Of Attorny that I have obtained so I can check it, and then possibly close it.
My Father is ill and cannot remember his password and has not had a mobile for over 5 years.
I called PayPal customer support around June 27th 2019, after being passed from one support person to another I spoke to someone who knew what I was asking, he promised me someone would contact me within 7 days - THIS DID NOT HAPPEN
I sent a "POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE" message via the messaging system this has been on going ever since then, the typical response is "Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding. I understand that you have forgotten password of your PayPal account and the registered phone number is also not working. I will surely help you with this. In this case, I would recommend you to contact us on 0800 3587 911 and our agents will help you with this..
Thank you for your time."
On one occasion some asked me to send a copy of the LPA document - I did this - NOW NOTHING
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP PAYPAL SUPPORT IS TERRIBLE

Can't you use the lost password option to get a new password and then close the account?

Thanks for your reply As stated my Father is very ill, he has forgotten his password and the phone number associated with his account has long since gone. So gaining access via Power Of Attorney is the only answer, that I can see

So? Why can't you use the lost password option to recover it as already stated?

Thanks @kernowlass I have had more sense from you and in a timely manner 🙂 than any of the the responses from PayPal's support team 😞
I tried the method you suggested and I need to try it again the next time I visit him as the process requires a 2nd validation step to be completed, one is the phone which as I have mentioned is not an option, the 2nd is I need to see if he remembers his security questions, a bit of a long shot though.

Thanks I have tried the email option and obtained the numerical code to proceed but the process was the 2nd step (as mentioned) to be successfully passed as well.
