Lack of mobile reception

Am eighty nine. Used PayPal since inception. There is no signal where I live, but PayPal ask for my mobile number so I can receive a code on a mobile phone to sign in. I know this idea is brought about by E. U. interference, but why can’t PayPal  send  this code to my landline number. Surely lack of a mobile signal is not an unusual thin in this third world country.

I have poor signal and so use a phone with wifi calling on it, problem then solved.

Bully for you Sir, my landline phone is plain and simply a landline. My question  stays the same. Why can’t PayPal let me use my landline to sent this code back to them? John
