How long for a refund to appear within PayPal

Recently I ordered a pair of jeans. The very next day I received an email from the seller saying they canceled the order, and that it is refunded. I found this odd but I just said okay, I'll order jeans from somewhere else. I had no problem until I noticed that PayPal had not informed me of any refund and the charge is still on my PayPal credit. Usually, when I receive a refund it automatically appears as incoming money on my PayPal within the same day. This makes me wonder if the seller is scamming me. So my question is... how long until the refund appears on my account? Should I dispute this and if so what should my claim be?

If you have not received a paypal email to say a refund has been issued then sounds as if it wasn't.
If a refund was issued then you would not be able to open a dispute.
So you can open a dispute for non receipt of item via the resolution centre in your paypal account.
