Does anything need to be done for the PayPal Here credit card slider which attaches to my phone to be able to accept the new Mastercard series.

The slider just reads the magnetic strip. Card acceptance would be taking place through your account, gateway, processor and issuer. Unless you've set some fraud management filters to allow in (or block) specific BIN numbers, you should be good to go.
