Default Payment Method?

I just got finished verifying my bank account with my Paypal account. I then received a message that from now on, all purchases will be made from my bank account instead of the card I have registered. Is there a way to change that setting and choosing which account payments are automatically paid from? I do NOT want payments made automatically from my checking account. I only added my checking account for  just in case purposes and to give me a wider range of options.

I routinely pay a company outside of the US using PayPal.  For months payments were funded with echecks directly out of my bank account and this is how I wanted it.  All of a sudden, the last several payments have been funded with my debit card and my bank charges me a 3% "International Transaction Fee".  I have searched for a way to make echecks my default payment so I can avoid the extra fee but can't seem to figure it out.

I've read here that PayPal will default to the bank account for payment but that seems to not be the case any more.  I don't understand why, my bank account is verified with enough available funds for the transactions.  Do I need to remove my debit card from the account?  Is it the seller that has changed?  I don't get a choice in how it's funded... I select PayPal on seller's order screen, login, then all I get is the seller's screen with "confirm payment" button.

Very frustrating... and costing me hundreds of dollars in bank fees... and advise?

Why aren't "Adrian"  or PayPal answering these questions?  We all clearly want to be able to set our own payment default but PayPal is ignoring us.  I am through with eBay and PayPal until this is fixed.  I was tricked into adding the bank account and now I can't get back to using my credit card.  Fix this.

We all agree.  I suspect the reason Adrian has not responded is that he is nothing more than a mouthpiece for PayPal and can do no more than echo existing policy.

The real question then is whether Adrian, or whoever administers this board, recognizes the public discontent with the existing policy and is bringing it to the attention of policy makers at PayPal. Otherwise, this exercise and this board is little more than Internet masturbation.
