There are 2 x deposits received from PayPal with the ID description "Transfer from PayPal Australia" to an account that is not linked to a PayPal account. Both of these have what appears to be a transfer reference number, but when we have tried to query with PayPal where these deposits have come to, so that the funds can be returned/transaction reversed, we have been asked to pay money in order for it to be investigated. The amount we are being asked to pay for the investigation is more than the 2 x deposits combined.
Is this a scam?
The deposits have been made into a Trust Account with strict auditing regulations.
