I helped my friend open an account and used my own bank details (Debit Card) so she can receive money which is the purpose of her opening one. She is not so techy and asked for my help about it. As time passed...She only used it once requesting for receiving money, but it was declined.

After sometime, she never uses it on any...neither for paying any transactions including online shopping. Now, I decide to open MY OWN PERSONAL Account. I've asked her if she still be needing my Bank Details that is link to her PayPal because I will be needing that for my own use to be link on my account.

She said she won't be needing it anymore since she doesn't have an Alternative Credit/Debit card to link with it if ever she wants to keep it. So, we tried to remove the Bank Details and it indeed look removed. I asked her to try to do re-login and see if we really removed the Bank details, and we saw that it was already not link in her profile.

Right then, I try to linked the Debit card on my account but I received an Error while doing says, "This card linked to another PayPal account. Please remove the card from another account or try different payment method". We tried again to login back on my friend’s account and we saw the bank details is still there (we don't know if we there some glitches or what, seeing it was already removed and again it still there.) So, we tried to remove again my Debit card to hers, did re-login then saw it was not linked anymore just to be sure.

I go back and open mine and tried to linked again on my own account. I still keep on receiving the same Error message again. So, I ask again my friend to re-login and removed all her details this time and close her account at once, which she did.

I waited for the next day do the same procedure from Morning then afternoon to try to linked again my debit card and still the same ERROR message keep on showing cause some people I know that has PayPal advices me to re-try on a certain time of the day because its more convenient and easier to get link. Same goes with my Virtual AMEX card which giving error also. All in all, nothing Happened and still keep on receiving the same error message after couple of trials linking the Debit card on my account.

Hi there @sharpiemarker

Thanks for the response on my inquiry Possible to open new account with same details after closing existing one? .🙂Screenshot (4).png

I already did check it and re-try to link and I receive a ERROR message again, one thing confuses me. Do I need to use the billing address info that I provide at my PayPal Account or the Billing Address I have on the Debit Card?  Thanks again and Have good day!
