Changing Card For Fraudulent Charges

Hi, I just cancelled my credit card because a scam company kept charging me fraudulently. This company was billing me through paypal. My bank is sending me a new card that I will have to update my other bills to. My issue is that my old card that i just cancelled is linked to my paypal. Should I close my paypal account? If I add my new card to my current paypal account I worry that the scam company will start charging me again. Is there any disadvantage to closing my paypal account? Like would it cause any issues? I don’t currently have any other subscriptions or transactions linked to my paypal so it would not be a hassle to close it. Thank you for any advice you can give.

CLOSE YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY!! Scammers specifically use PayPal because they are known to back up the scammers and not the customer. Then file a lawsuit against PayPal. I am! 🙂
