My PayPal password includes a non-numeric non-alphabetic character as recommended by financial industry security experts.
PayPal's website accepts the password but the iPhone app doesn't. I even tested it by typing the password into the iPhone Notes app, then copied and pasted it into the PayPal login screen in Safari on the iPhone. I was able to log in and received the banner ad for the iPhone app. When the password is pasted or typed into the iPhone app, PayPal responds with the wrong credentials warning. Repeated attempts cause a lockout.
Four versions later, the PayPal iPhone app requires the user to create a less-secure password. PayPal refuses to answer Emails about this serious security flaw.
