The system won't accept my phone number

So I've recently changed my contact number & I've been trying to update my PayPal account about it, but I can't because it says "That doesn't look quite right". My number is a valid Australian phone number. I've tried both 0+9 digits & +61 + 9 digits formats but it won't accept either & it shows what the photo below says. 

Please update your system to fix this issue. Just FYI, I've had the exact same problem with multiple other websites including Google, Microsoft/Outlook, Yahoo!, Steam, Blizzard Entertainment, etc., they all had to update their system so my number is accpeted (although I have no idea what those updates involves) & I'm 99% certain this is the same problem with PayPal

You need to contact customer services to resolve any account specific issues.
Click help / contact bottom left of Paypal pages for options available for your country.

Or have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
