Hi,

Tried ringing Paypal but the automated system says it can't help me and hangs up.

Tried the message system but this goes round in circles

Yesterday I get an emails from Paypal to oner of my personal email addresses (which is not used on Paypal at all) saying I had created a paypal account. Then a follow up email asking to confirm my email (which I have NOT done)

Today I get a welcome message email.

I have NOT setup another account so someone has created an account with my email address. I came to paypal to check if the account was real and it appears to be as after login into it it wants to send a text message to a different phone number than mine.

How can I get this account deleted as I do not want to be held responsible or at least get someone to change the email address to the proper person.

I do not know if this fraud, phising or a geniune mistake when someone added their email but used my details instead of theres

Who do I need to contact

Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages...

1. Paypal phones are slowly re-opening and increasing in numbers (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.
Or
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.
It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK and @AskPayPal for Twitter.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.
