Becuase of high courier fees to my country South Africa I want to rather have the goods sent to a friend in Europe who will carry the goods back with him to South Africa for me. This means I must change the receiving address. It therefore wont match with the address Paypal have on file for me. Can I still do this transaction or must I change my Paypal address to match the address of the receiver?
The address on your paypal account has to match the country your paypal is linked with.
So you can only add a S.A address to a S.A paypal account.
You could ask the sellers to send to an alternate address BUT its unlikely they will agree as for seller protection they have to send to the paypal registered address of the buyer at the time of payment.
