Paypal is asking me for a captcha code but there is none

Paypal has decided to ask me to check the captcha code but they haven't given me a captcha code. Smart system!
has anybody else experienced this issue and gotten around it.

I don't seem to get this problem any longer. I suspect it may have to do with the URL/link that you use to get to paypal.

This was happening to me too until I noticed that when I manually type in my username and password (no copy/paste or auto fill) it works without the error message.
It seems that either copy/pasting or auto fill from browser plugins or password managers trigger the error message.

The only way I can login using a PC is to use my cell phone number instead of my email address and then the same password as if I was logging in with the email address
