Password reset issue

Hello!

 

I've been having trouble logging in my main paypal account and the only thing that prevents me from resetting my password is my outdated phone number.  Unfortunately, that phone number can't be reached anymore since I lost my phone a few months ago. But I was able to verify my email though. I'm getting frustrated because I could not remember my new password after I changed it about a week ago. The money in there isn't that much but I really need it because of the coronavirus. I hope someone can help me get through this problem.

Normally if your email is confirmed it will show options for you to verify via email.We have limited access on your account,I wish I can do more. I suggest that you send us a message for account specific questions.

You might have gone through the Forgot Password steps but have you tried choosing " I don't have access to this phone number" as it will show you  some options such as Receive a textreceive an email, answer your security questions or have us call you

 

You may also send us a message for account specific questions since our phone lines are currently closed due to Covid 19.

Hi!

 

" I don't have access to this phone number" does not show on my screen whenever I attempt to reset my password. It will only say next and will prompt you to put your verification code afterward. And then at the bottom, there will be a button that says "try another way". But it will simply take me back to the previous screen.

I have tried for the past two days from my new PayPal account and my wife’s PayPal account to access a representative via message, but no one has gotten back to me.

I don’t have an option for I don’t have this phone anymore, the only thing it shows on the screen is to send an SMS text to my old number that I no longer have access to. There is no option to choose that I don’t have access to it.

this is a run-around. I've literally been on the computer for hours txt and asked the same stupid questions a thousand times, there are only two option for a password reset available one is the email which is no problem, but the other is the dam txt by phone if your phone is lost stolen or simply not in service with that number, then you have a problem, and no one at PayPal knows what to do
