Name Change to Deadname, process taking a long time

I originally created my PayPal account with my new name as to not deadname myself to others, but now I cannot accept money being sent to me. Neither of my banks are accepting transfers from PayPal, and I can't keep the money in my account because all my information links to my deadname.

So I am trying to change my name to my deadname (just use a business account in the future I suppose), but I have submitted the information twice now with the oldest being about a week ago, and I have not heard back and my name has not been updated. I have tried to use the message center but that seems to be taking a while as well.

Any pointers?

If the name on the account is not a name that was ever your legal name, it is not likely that a name change will be possible. Names can be changed on an account in the following circumstances:

A legal name change

A minor misspelling

And in the case of an account for a registered business, a change in the designated contact for the company.

Changing from a fictitious name (or, as in your case, a name unrelated to your legal name) to a legally recognized name is not something that is supported. If the account is not currently limited, you may wish to close the account and open an account using the correct information.

Thank you! In the process of trying to get this resolved, PayPal themselves decided just to close my account 😕 I'll be using a Business account with my new name in replacement!
