Lost phone number and trouble accessing account

Hi!

I am no longer using the phone number I used to register my Paypal account with.

Recently when I logged in and was asked to confirm my phone number through a text message or a call, I couldn't complete this step.

Is there a way I can contact Paypal and get them to verify my account in a different way?

Sorry to be the one to break this to you, but no you can't.  There is no other way.
I just spent about EIGHT HOURS trying to get around the exact same issue myself.  It's an absolute nightmare. 
There is no way to contact Paypal service or help without being logged in.
