How do I update update my primary email address?

I went to settings, confirmed a new email address and there is still not update to change the primary email. 

There is no pencil button and no "primary" button by my email (I see that by phone #) but not my email. 

Please help! It's driving me crazy.

To update an email address, you must have at least two email addresses on file.
Login to your account.
* Click on the Gear icon.
* Click on the "+" in the Email box.
* Enter your new email address.
* Click "Add Email"
* You will need to confirm the new email - once you've done that, you can make it the Primary and delete the old email.

Thanks! Just note you need to be logged in with your primary email address in order to make these changes.

none of these solutions work, the system does NOT let you use the secondary email as the primary even if it's been confirmed...
