My account went into arrears but a direct debit came out of my account on Friday for it but it is still not showing up on my account and my paypal account is still showing the minus figure.
Transfers from bank accounts are never instant, that is why when you buy something paypal credit the seller upfront for you and paypal take the wait for the funds to transfer to pay them back again, this is so you get your item without delay.
Takes 5-7 working days to transfer as Paypal use the slowest (cheapest) transfer option BUT funds normally leave your bank account from a few hours up to a few days later.
HOWEVER if paypal have requested the funds to clear a negative balance then its you that takes the wait this time for the funds to clear via electronic transfer ie echeque.

I had a minus amount which I restored except for a few pence, they've now taken the original full amount out of my bank account, so they've in effect had the payment twice!
Hoping that the amount will be restored to my PayPal balance, but after 4 days, this hasn't yet happened.
