Spent 30 minutes today after I found I could log in to Paypal but not if I wanted to pay for shipping. Tried everything, but the button was not active in firefox. I went to Paypal.com/login, and found I could log in. But when I went moments later to the payment form, it asked me for a password again and would again not let me pay. After wasting more time I finally got it to work in Chrome.
As a Software Developer, I understand bugs. And from what I can see, Paypal has some major quality control issues. I wonder if they are even secure as these types of issues are at every turn. The restrictions on the Merchent side are worse and their security is insanely ridiculous. Ive had massive problems logging into merchant accounts and other accounts. We can't transfer subscriptions to a different domain. We are constantly locked out, having to authenticate and do ReCaptcha 1000x. Right now, Im lucky to do a transaction without spending 40+ minutes on trying to find work around. One merchant account we have is constantly getting suspended for inappropriate content having us to contact paypal which ultimately leads to a long investigation which ultimately restores our account. I can't even ask for support from Paypal on that account without having it trigger another week long investigation to determine if we can get our answer. Ultimately, they too come back that we are not in violation of the policy.
So now, at this point. Im warning all of my customers about paypals service and recommending other payment providers. The downward spiral Paypal is going on does not seem to stop. You all need to focus on providing services and not a pain in the **bleep** experience cause your customers are tired of it.
Ill have to start using Amazon Merchent services as this is just not what it use to be. I'd ask that people avoid the issue entirely and use a payment processor that cares.
