Cannot edit director surname when creating new paypal business account

I am creating a new pp business account today. When entering the director/beneficial owner's surname, I typed it incorrectly. There appears to be no way to edit this and when the system tries to verify that person's identity (it is not me) it cannot, unsurprisingly.

Can anyone advise on how to change the surname only for the director/beneficial owner so that I can finalise the submission?

Good day to you and thank you very much for your query.

In order for me to address your concern in editing the surname of the Director, you may want to check on this suggestion:

You can submit a request to change the surname on the business account for a typographical error or a legal name change. We’re unable to change the name on a PayPal account to a different person's name.

To change the name shown on your account:

1. Click on the small cogwheel or gear found at the top right hand portion of the Paypal account.
2. Next to the name, click Edit.
3. Click the type of change you want to make and follow the instructions:

• Change the legal name.
• Update the name.
• Make a minor correction. You will be able to fix a typo of 1 or 2 characters only once.

If you're not fixing a typo, you'll be asked to provide documentation to support your name change (i.e. copy of your Director's photo ID like for example a driver's license).
