Cancelled account

Hello Just today I received a payment from a client and got a email saying that my account was cancelled. I told them ask for a refund on their side because that’s what it was telling me to do, but for them it says the refund has to be sent from me! How do I send the money back if paypal wont let me?

Tell them to open a dispute for non receipt of item.
