Adding a mobile phone number

I have given up trying to add my mobile phone number.  I have tried every thing I can think of  with the first numbers. The correct format for UK is like this,

0771818****. From abroad it's like this , 0044 771 etc. The first zero of the phone number gets dropped off.

How can I get the number to go in and in which format.

Because I go to Spain frequently, Paypal thinks I am Spanish.  In my profile it says Spain.  I have tried to change this to UK but can't delete Spain.

This is driving me mad.  Can someone help?

Paypal is country specific so you have to open a paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

If you have a UK phone then you can only add it to a UK paypal account, if you have a Spanish phone then you can only add it to a Spanish paypal account.

You can't change countries on a paypal account.
