Why hasn't this transaction shown in my account history?!

I sold a cell phone on Craig's list. I agreed to mail it to Nigeria and recieve money through Paypal. I have shipped it but there is no pending transactions at all and no money added to my account when I know for sure the phone has made it there. The buyer said the Post office there will not release it until an additional $250 is paid my me and then I will recieve my payment. Can anyone tell me if this is correct and how paypal actualy works.

Welcome to the Forums. 

I am sorry this has happened to you. When money is sent to your PayPal account it will show up as a completed or pending transaction, PayPal does not recommend shipping the package out until the transaction shows up in your PayPal account. To tell you the truth the Post Office would not have anything to do with when the funds can or can not be released. It sounds like you may have been involved in a Scam with Craigslist.
