Hi,

My customer tried to pay by their credit card and they select 'Pay with a debit or credit card(if you don't have a paypal account' and entered the credit card info.

But the system ask to sign up Paypal account and confirm the card.

Why this happen? They put the right credit card info and they don't want to sign up Paypal.

I've attached error screenshot

Hello HarryJ,

For the screenshot that you have provided I can see that the purchase price is $3,000.00 USD.  When using a credit card to make a purchase through a Website Payments Standard product (such as a payment button) the lifetime sending limit is $2,000 for any card before the cardholder will be required to sign up for an account to verify additional information, which would explain this particular error.  Let me know if you have additional examples.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply.

So per transaction below $2000? Then, for $3,000 can I do like two transactions with $1,499 and $1,501?

The $2000 limit is a lifetime limit for any card.  Meaning that once the card has spent $2000 dollars through PayPal an account will have to be created.   For larger transactions like these it will be a much smoother process if either the buyer has an account or if you are processing with Website Payments Pro or Virtual Terminal.

Let me know if you have additional questions!
