What is this nonsense about asking for biometric information?

Suddenly I see I'm getting notices from PayPal that they want "biometric information", apparently a facial scan/photo for use in generating a facial recognition profile. Possibly later they'll want a DNA sample? Maybe a retina scan? Voiceprint? Fingerprints? Maybe they'll want a blood sample just to be sure.

No way am I going to cooperate with this. So far it looks like doing this is optional, but it is going to become a requirement? I'll cancel my PayPal account before providing them with that kind of information.

I always use biometric info to log in, so much quicker when using an app and safer / quicker than having to enter a password.
