Someone got into my account and changed it to business. I need to change it back to personal.

Someone got into my account, changed my address, and other details plus changed it to a business account. I have been able to reset my password and correct everything except there doesn’t seem to be an obvious way to change it back to a personal account. I don’t own a business account. All I find is that I have to close the account and start from scratch with a new account. It seems odd someone could change my account to a business account. But I can’t change it back. Surely I am missing something. Please point me in the right direction.

Welcome and thank your for posting your concern.

We are sorry to hear that you are unable to change your account type from Business to Personal. Currently we do not have an option to downgrade the business accounts to personal account. We recommend you to create a new personal account. Kindly refer the help centre article How do I change the type of PayPal account I have? for more details.
