I cannot unlink my card, because I cannot access the account its in.

I used my card previously through paypal, with the current email. I thought for certain it was all linked, but somehow the email didn't previously exist in the database, but my card is "linked to a different account."
There doesn't seem to be a ready way to remedy this.

I'm sorry to hear you're both having difficulty adding a card to your current account because it's still linked to an older account. If you had closed the older account within 48 hours of trying to add the card to your new account, you should be able to add it now since some time has passed. If the older account still exists, it would need to be removed from that account first. If you're unable to log into the older account, I recommend visiting this Help Center article for some tips: What can I do if I can't log in? Now, if you're still unable to add the card and cannot remove it from the older account, please don't hesitate to reach out to Customer Support by selecting 'Contact' at the bottom of our webpage.
