How can I update my email address to one that is used for another account - Paypal cannot help

I live in two countries.

I wanted to have one card and address used for one country, and a different one for the other.

This would avoid conversation fees and exchange rates, and allow delivery to preferred location.

However paypal does not allow this.

So... I created a different account, with my personal email, however, paypal didn't allow that either.

Now, many years later, my work email has changed, so I want to update to my personal one, however, I cannot as it's in use.

So I asked them to remove my personal account (12 months ago), as I don't use that, and support said they would.

a year later, and it's not been done, so I tried again myself.

- cannot login as that old account to delete it, or remove the email

- did password reminder, get an SMS, then asked for code via email, which goes to the email of the account I want to keep (so somehow the two accounts are linked)

- then updating the password updates the account I want to keep.

- so there is NO way in to old account I want to delete

- also no way to update in new account

- also support centre gives me AI chat, which tells me to use support centre

- "message us" does nothing

- report an issue expects me to give details of a transaction.

 

So in short, my old account cannot be accessed, and the account I actually use will shortly be unavailable, because my old work email will be unavailable.. and there is NO way to contact paypal to ask for any kind of help.

Extremely frustrating!
