Address Issues

P.P. wants proof of address . with utility bill or driving license.

my problem is.I am a British citizen retired to Greece with Greek national husband,

All utility bills are either paid on line or in Greek in my husbands name.

I sent Paypal a photo of a u.k.bank info sheet, showing my address in Latin .Paypal refuses as my only my inital of forename was used,the address WAS correct.

The photo of driving licence  I sent was in Greek as in accordance with Greek law.with my name in Greek.translated back phonetically into latin baring no resemblance of my passport name.

Also sent photo of my passport for I.D purposes

Then was asked for photo of either credit card or bank statement.REALLY !!! these documents are in joint names with my husband.

I really don't know what else I can do.

meanwhile I cannot use PayPal.And resolution centre does not cover my problem.

Paypal is country specific so if you move country you have to open another paypal account in that country and add an address / phone number / and bank accounts from within that country.

okay thanks..can I open a new account and transfer money from my original one ?

When you start to use a paypal account in another country, paypal will want identification info from you to prove its really you and that account has not been hacked and used without your consent by a scammer in another country.

You 'may' be lucky and be able to send the funds to your new account BUT you are really supposed to withdraw all funds / remove all financial accounts / close your old account before you move.

If you do manage to transfer the funds you would need to either 'convert' £££ to euros first and mark that as the primary currency for that transaction OR add £££ as a receiving currency on your Greek account and then convert them when you receive them.

And it might have been nice to have given one of my posts the solution credit rather than your own !!
