will paypal automatically use my credit card?

i jus created my account. i only have a credit card on my paypal account, and my paypal balance is zero. if i purchase sumthin from ebay, will paypal automatically use my credit card (this is what i want)?

It will as long as you have that set for your backup funding source which you would if you have that linked to your Paypal account
