Paypal has tried twice to pay a subscription w/my checking account, and twice it has failed. We have plenty of money in that account. What's going on?

I'm having the exact same problem. I got an email from paypal saying the payment for my subscription has failed because I do not currently have a back up funding source for my instant transfer payment, when in fact , I do have a backup funding source. There is also enough money in my primary funding source.

have you updated you credit card or bank account information on paypal? maybe that's why it's being denied.

I get the same email.  Mine relates to a website I have registered & hosted.  Is that what your email references?

I don't even have any recurring payments or payment subscriptions with PayPal.  I have adequate funding in both my primary & backup sources.  I have made PayPal transactions in between the 2 "kickback payment emails".

I sent the email to PayPal's spoof address.  No comments.

I talked to PayPal, the representative said JustHost, with whom the email says I have a payment subscription with, "must have a defunct secondary source of funds of mine on file"... I said, "the emails are supposedly from PayPal, if I have a recurring payment subscription setup with PayPal to pay JustHost how could they cause PayPal to refuse payment?  If they can, & I already have funding sources with JustHost... what is PayPal for?"  agent said I had to talk with JustHost.

Many frustrating emails later... JustHost says I am current, that I have 2 credit cards on file that JustHost bills, and do not have a subscription/recurring payment plan with PayPal to pay their fees.

The email looks real the web address that it asks you to click has what looks like a legit PayPal address, I have not clicked it, instead I logged on to PayPal in the usual way to check my account.

I'm concluding that It must be a fraud, or a major error on PayPal's part.
